Maui Day 6

Some may know my great fear of the water. After a dramatic near drowning experience, I don't like being in the water. In a pool I have to be able to touch the ground and/or hold on to the side. I won't go into open water unless I am wearing a life jacket or have a noodle. I don't like getting my face wet. But today I went snorkeling!!! This was big for me. I had a bit of a rough start with the salt water (I am a gagger), but once we saw our first turtle I was excited to see more. We saw 8 turtles and numerous fish. As we were heading back to the shore we found two turtles eating off the rocks. They were so close and the waves kept on pushing us closer we were almost touching them. It was one of the coolest things I have ever seen.

Later as we were sitting on the beach, we heard there were more turtles eating off some rocks right off the beach. So Brandon and I grabbed our snorkeling gear and went to see them. You can see how shallow and clear the water was. You could see the turtles from above the water, but the view from underneath was amazing.

Talk about complete and utter relaxation.

I'm sorry about your experience with water. I DON'T like even thinking about murkey water that I can't see through. So I sympathize.
And LOVE the candid pic of you two standing in the water. :) Makes me smile! SOOO Good to see you guys in person last week! Those boys of yours just charm me.
