Take a Picture Mom!

Every time Sam holds Max the first thing he says is, "Take a picture mom!" The second is usually, "My arm is getting tired." And occasionally, "Double heads!" (Thanks Jilly.)

Nicole and Jamie

My little sister, Nicole got married in June. We are still waiting for the wedding photos from the photographer, but I just finished editing some of the bridal photos we took at the beginning of June.

Summer

We love summer and all that comes with it!

Samisms

We went to Mazatlan and got fried ice cream with strawberry sauce. Sam took a bite and exclaimed, "This is one cold meatball!"

"I like eating the wild berry popsicles because it makes me think of cheetahs and cougars."

M: Put away your toys.
S: These aren't toys. They are bored things.
M: What?
S: They are things you play with when you are bored.
M: Well, go put the bored things in the bored room.

Why do the dads always kiss all over the kids' moms?

"Every time I go to the bathroom I get stuck to the toilet."

Brandon paid Sam $0.75 to throw away all the diapers upstairs (and there were a lot with two kids). When Sam put his money in his piggy bank, which has a section for tithing, spending and saving he said, "One for spending, one to give to other people and one for the government." Can you tell Sam has been hanging around Brandon while he complains about taxes?

New Uses for a Sprinkler

1: Hold everyone hostage in the house

Jackson is a quick learner and loves to copy everything that he sees and hears. So after watching someone water the flowers with the sprinkler, he decided to try it also. But instead of watering the flowers or lawn, Jackson decided to water the house. Then it became a game to spray anyone who tried to come out of the door or open the window.

Look at that mischievous smile

All the aunties loved the stripes the sprinkler made in his hair.

But the fun was over when he set the sprinkler down (spraying the sliding door) and got soaked when he tried to come inside.

Really, how could you get mad at this face?

2. Customized water park

I had told Sam stories about how my siblings and I would rig up our swing set with hoses and sprinklers to make water slides and other "water rides." This is Sam's first take on the his very own water park.

Tractor Rides

While staying with Grandpa Jan and Lola, the boys helped Grandpa Jan mow the lawn. Since there isn't enough room on the tractor, the wagon was rigged up and Sam had a personal cart.

Almost guaranteed to lull Jackson to sleep.

Enumclaw Regional Hospital
Enumclaw, Washington

I have a hard time taking pills. I gag and everyone else in the room gets a good laugh. So while at the hospital, I took my pain pills crushed up and mixed into a little chocolate pudding. Jackson decided to help me out and finish off some pudding... no drugs included.

Number 3

This morning we welcomed our third boy into our family. He was born sometime around 8:20 am. Weighing in at 6 lb. 12 oz. and 18.5 inches in length.

With two big brothers to teach him the ways of the force, he'll have no problem learning to wrestle, down cookies and race hotwheels.

Independence

Our 4th of July was pretty low key. We were planning on just staying home and letting Brandon get a little more work done. He is almost done with the children's book he is working on and wants to finish before the baby comes (7:45 am on Friday, July 9th).

We love a good distraction and were able to have some new friends come over for a BBQ and fireworks in front of the house. Even though it should just be expected in Washington, we were bummed that it is the beginning of July and we were still wearing sweatshirts and bundled in blankets to keep warm. We shot off our fireworks and then joined the neighbors for popcorn, dessert and watched their (and the rest of Sunrise neighborhood's) firework display.

Sam was super excited to do fireworks and his pyro dad showed him how to run around with smoke bombs.

Jackson joined in the action, but preferred glow sticks and cuddling with me, where he feel asleep.

Sam and all the neighbor girls. Too bad there aren't any boys his age on our street.

5 years old

I can't believe Sam is now 5 years old! Before I had a chance to wish him Happy Birthday in the morning, Sam greeted me with, "Ok, lets celebrate my birthday!" He has been counting down for the last couple of weeks. We had quite the busy day, which is just the way he likes it. We started off the day with the ward 4th of July breakfast, our cousin Andrew's baptism and a family BBQ and birthday party.

We let Sam pick an activity and where he wanted to go out to dinner for his special day. He picked putt putt golf and Applebee's. It was his first time golfing and while he was super excited his attention span was not quite long enough. He did manage two holes in one though.

must be where sam got all he "sweet moves" from

Jackson was more interested in dragging his club and golf ball around though when he finally decided to try golfing he was all concentration. Look at that tongue.

jackson was so upset that he didn't get to go in the cages with dad
so as a consolation prize both boys got a piggyback ride. can you carry two boys?
