Samisms

Sam: Mom, what is a wedgie? (as he is picking at one)
Mom: Um, it is when your underwear gets pulled up too tight.
Sam: No, it is when your pants get stuck in your bum.

Sam: Do you have to go to the bathroom?
Someone: No, why?
Sam: Why are you holding your pee pee?
Disclaimer: This person wasn't holding their peepee. Their hand was resting on their leg.

Sam: Why are you mad?
Mom: What do you mean?
Sam: Your eyebrows are down.

Hipscotch: First you hip and then you run.

Going Mobile

Jackson started crawling last Thursday. Now between rolling, scooting, and crawling there is no stopping him. He loves being in the middle of things or at least close enough to see what is going on. He always seems to travel from the carpet and toys to the kitchen floor and dining room chairs, eventually getting stuck underneath. Now he is using the chairs to climb into a sitting position. Brandon and I just got done lowering the crib, because he was also climbing up the rails... and as a result not taking his naps. Oh, how fast things change and my baby grows up.

Turbo Boost

I made this tutu for my friend Carol's daughter, Chloe's 2nd birthday. It is green and lavender, but looks gray in the photo. It turned out really cute, but I wanted to see how it would look on... so we convinced Sam it would give him a turbo boost when he was racing around the house. Ok, it took a little more convincing... and some bribery. What can I say? The kid knows the difference between girls' and boys' stuff.

He is going to love me for this one some day! But it made him faster.

Koontz Randomness

Here are some random photos as random as the people in them.

Two peas in a pod.

All the boys working on Jeremy's car. Brandon (moral support), Chris (hiding from the camera), dad (sub contracting it out), Christopher (big helper), Jeremy (irritated beyond belief). Sam wanted to help, but he didn't have any tools, so he was given a sledge hammer!

A cute one with a runny nose.

Sunbeams!!!

Last Sunday was Sam's first day of sunbeams. I can't believe I have a primary kid. Usually the upcoming sunbeams visit primary during singing time a couple of times before the new year, but since church was canceled for half of the month and we were visiting family the other half, Sam didn't have that introduction. Regardless, Sam did wonderful.

I was out in the hall with Jackson and talked with April, who was subbing as the primary chorister. She comes up with the funnest ideas. The primary kids were able to be mad scientists mixing up magic potions (vinegar, food coloring and baking soda). After church I was pumping Sam for information. I got a lot of, "I don't know, "I don't remember," and shoulder shrugs. When I mentioned being a mad scientist, he got very excited and explained that when you mixed the potions it would "explode" and tell you what song to sing. Then his smile turned into a frown and he said, "I didn't get a turn." Sam, in the next 12 years I am sure you will get plenty of turns.

Picturesque

Since cutting down the tree in front of the house you can see how pretty it is, especially in a fresh snow.
