Two weeks after Sam's first surgery we returned to Shriner's to have a follow-up surgery. This surgery was very quick (30 minutes compared to the 4+ hour surgery previous). They removed some pins from each foot and recast each leg. We were hoping Sam would get the casts below his knees, which would help with his lack of sleeping at night, but they still go all the way up his leg. They are considerably smaller in size though, which should help some.
A couple hours later and we were on our way home again. Four more weeks and we will do the whole trip over again... hopefully the last time for a little while.

Emily, thanks for the update. It looks like a pretty traumatic event for everyone. It is so hard to see your little one suffer. We love you guys.
What a little trooper! I hope everything goes well!
The blue suits ;) More love and prayers from us. Coming right up.
(Oh, and I don't think Sam could have asked for anything better than having a GRafFiTi artist living under his roof. lol. I bet he has the best doodled casts in the history of kid-dom.
