Tolmie Peak

Labor Day we did a hike with my parents, Jordan and one of my dad's friend. We thought a short, kid friendly hike would be perfect to celebrate this beautiful sunny day.  But there was nothing short or easy about this hike for our little family. Despite the uphill hike, tons of misquitos and being really out of shape and too soon after surgery, we did enjoy ourselves.

jackson wanted to help carry a pack : just a little too big to be comfortable

lola : em and ellie : max, brandon and jackson

next time i want max's seat

goofy ball through and through

she serenaded us while hiding from the bugs

hiking up to the fort : half way there

gorgeous views

of course we can't get a decent family photo

we barely made it to the top : and boy does it show

jordan, our photographer : climbing to the fort

max was already buckled into the backpack so not a true family photo

Sam had embraced the jumping photos. Now every time I pull the camera out he starts jumping. To make this hike even more of an adventure we have to throw some drama in the mix. Ellie had a blow out while we were at the fort. I thought this was going to be a short hike and didn't think to bring a diaper for her. So the poor girl hung out in her mess the whole way down and definitely didn't enjoy getting woken up for a bath of cold wipes. Fortunately we had the wipes because she wasn't the only one who had an accident while on top of a mountain.

And your cute family is growing up way too fast.
