Seven

I can't believe that my little boy is now a big seven year old. We spent the day hanging out at home and then did just what this boy loves, eating crepes and playing soccer. He requested a soccer ball cake, but being the lame mom that I am, he got chocolate cupcakes with plain chocolate brown frosting and an assortment of random candles, which didn't even equal seven. We had him blow them out twice, for photos sake, so that counts for something right?

Sam is such a big helper at home, especially with Ellie and his brothers. He is also becoming quite the helper around the house. He isn't the most cooperate or cheerful helper, but once he shows me that he can do certain jobs I enlist his help much more often. And it is such a wonderful treat when I ask him to do something and he jumps up and exceeds my expectations.

Sam loves to play and play. Just like his dad. If there isn't something FUN to do, then there is nothing to do. He has gotten really into building legos, playing sports and riding his bike this year.

Sam is all about comfort. He comes home from school and changes into his favorite basketball shorts and t-shirts. The absolute favorites including anything BYU, his Edgerton wolf walk shirt and the green Ear Institute of Erie shirt (pictured above) that once belonged to my uncle and both brothers. It will be a sad day when that shirt is too small. He loves to match Brandon on Sundays, dressing up in a white shirt and coordinating tie. And nothing but running shoes for this one.

Sam is like an elephant, he never forgets. If you tell him something he will remember and hold you to it.

Sam is so fun, he has the best smile and a great laugh. He is a wonderful big brother and is constantly trying to teach his brothers new things (good and bad) and encouraging them to make good choices. We are so glad that Sam has been a part of our family for seven years and look forward to see all his goofiness in many more. Love ya Sam!!
