Out and About

The weather has been pretty nice lately, so we took a bike ride around the neighborhood and ended up at the park. Love these days.

Quarantined

For the last two weeks we have been stuck in the house. Sam had a fever and cough and just as he was getting over it, Jackson got croup. The first couple of nights we pretty rough and we ALL felt the effects. But Jackson was back to his busy self in no time. As a precaution, we have been hanging out at home to make sure Jackson didn't get anyone else sick. Sam has been helping Jackson with entertainment.

Four years doesn't change much.

Samisms

I haven't been writing many Samisms down lately. I'm not sure if it is because there haven't been many or we have been butting heads so much, I am not finding the comments very humorous.

When Sam says a prayer he has gotten stuck in a rut of thanking Heavenly Father for everyone in the room and the food. Brandon and I tried to explain that our prayers are times we can talk with Heavenly Father and thank him for anything and everything and even ask Him to bless us and things we may need or want (because he never blesses the food).

So now when Sam says the prayer he says thanks for everyone in the room and Batman.

Well, it is some improvement.

Also, for those who have asked and are wondering... we haven't heard any new info on Sam's surgery date. A couple months ago it was tentatively scheduled for February 17th, but we haven't gotten our 6 weeks out/ final phone call yet. So we are looking at late February and hopefully not later.

New Year's Football

We didn't take a single photo on New Year's Eve, but this was our run down... Party at the Koontzes! Every hour. When I was little my parents would celebrate New Year's Eve every hour on the hour until midnight. Mainly because we all fall asleep long before 12:00. I thought the boys would love it. Jackson was a little surprised by the noisemakers and confetti, but Sam LOVED it! He would inform everyone when it was time for "party poopers" (poppers). And he made it all the way until the 11 o'clock celebration before falling asleep.

The next afternoon the boys hit the field for a little football. It was dry when we left, but by the time we "cheerleaders" arrived it was pouring.

Christmas Eve Dodgeball

After our rousing White Elephant Exchange the big kids and Sam headed over to the church for some dodgeball. I stayed at home to put Jackson down for bed, so Miss took these photos for me.

Christmas Eve Party

We had our second annual Christmas Eve Party. What a blast! We had dinner, listened to Brandon read his Christmas story, sang Christmas songs accompanied by the ukulele, and then on to the fun stuff... The White Elephant Exchange.

Old spatulas, fruitcake, blowhorns, pocketknife, several old dirty hats, and the return of the ski pants, which not one, but two, people tried on.

But prize for the best gift goes to Michael and Susie and Mustache Everyday for a Week. Everyone looks better with a mustache.
